World Health Organization (WHO) reports as of 30 May 2021, a total of 1,579,416,705 vaccine doses have been administered. WHO names COVID-19 variants 1st found in India as ‘Kappa’ and ‘Delta’. The WHO’s move came nearly three weeks after India objected to the B.1.617 mutant of the novel coronavirus being termed an “Indian Variant”

As daily cases reported seeing a downward trend, multiple states announced relaxations though they have extended the lockdown. Tamil Nadu reported most positive cases leading the state list. Followed by Karnataka with 16,604 fresh cases. Maharashtra reported 15,077 cases. Kerala 12,300 and Andhra Pradesh 12,400 cases. The case count was 10,137 for West Bengal.
